Beef Stew with Red Wine

                3 lbBeef Top Round, raw
 - 
                2 cupOnions
 - 
                2 tspGarlic
 - 
                1 cupRed Table Wine
 - 
                28 ozCanned Red Tomatos
 - 
                3 largePotato
 - 
                1/2 tspGround Thyme
 - 
                2 tblsTomato Juice Puree, canned
 - 
                1/2 tspGround Oregano
 - 
                4 smallCarrots
 - 
                1 cupBeans, kidney, all types, mature seeds, raw
 - 
                1/2 packageGreen Peas, frozen
 - 
                1 leafBay Leaf
 - 
                1/2 tspGround Basil
 - 
                1/4 tspTable Salt
 
Directions
1. Heat a large, dutch oven until very hot. Add the beef cubes.2. Sear beef. When browned all over, add the red onions and garlic. Saute for a few minutes with the beef.
3. Add the wine and allow to cook on high heat for 1 minute. Lower heat to just above a simmer, add the tomatoes. Stir the ingredients with the potatoes.
4. Add the rest of the ingredients. Stir well and cook for about 2 hours, or until the beef is tender, stirring frequently. Add water if necessary and cook partially covered. Serve.
